As a creative entrepreneur, I'm always seeking inspiration for the next project I tackle. Sometimes I get a creative block and feel like I'm the least artistic person in the world. That's when I look for new inspiration. I tend to get my inspiration from various places- books, TV, social media, magazines and especially, from movies.
My husband and I are movie fanatics. We literally go to a new movie almost every week. For my birthday, we went to see A Star is Born with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper - A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. This weekend we went to see Bohemian Rhapsody, the film about Freddie Mercury and Queen. It was such an inspirational, creative movie! The music had me stomping my feet and bobbing my head to the hits that Queen was so well-known for. I have a thing for stories about an underdog that really makes it big.
We all know that Freddie Mercury was an absolute musical genius but he was also tenacious and bold with all of his choices. Despite Freddie's father telling him to get a real job, he continued to pursue performing as his profession. And despite what some people told him about the way he looked, he became one of the sexiest performers to strut across a stage.
This tenacious pursuit of a dream is what keeps entrepreneurs going. Hearing stories like Freddie Mercury, Steve Jobs, or Richard Branson inspires me to push through in difficult times and celebrate the good times.
What inspires you?
